I'm optimistic at heart. The world is in crisis in many ways, but acts of beauty and creativity restore hope in humanity. And a sense of perspective gives us humility. That is fantastic. The background music is what elevates it beyond just a cool graphic. I love it when science meets art - if you haven't seen the Symphony of Science site (http://www.symphonyofscience.com/videos.html), it is another amazing mashup. My favorite video is The Poetry of Reality.
ReplyDeleteI wonder in general about the relationships of music with crisis - personal, political, environmental, etc. This also gets to the heart of primate behavior (chimpanzees and gorillas have both been seen dancing under specific circumstances for example). Just thinking - I do know that playing music (an instrument, not just listening) has positive effects on the psyche and brain at all stages of life -
