Crisis, trolling, bullying, need to hear from you!

http://www.mapleridgenews.com/news/173764121.html - she died.

On the empyre email list, we're discussing issues of pain, suffering, and death, from both a personal and philosophical viewpoint. Recently there have been defenses of 'trolling' - seemingly malicious online behavior designed to elicit responses from unsuspecting viewers or readers. Trolls enter email lists, chatroom, and so forth. In response, we've been looking at articles about trolling, and about the video and article above, which is unbearably haunting. Trolling is related to bullying, and the results can be deadly. This is a problem in the schools in the US, but even moreso, I think, in Japan, where it's either ignored or sometimes encouraged. In any case, please look at the urls.

I'd appreciate more response on the blog; if you want, we can start assigning possibilities for projects. I find the idea of Crisis - what's at the heart of Crisis - is mute; I'm not sure what kind of personal energy or personal projection might result. For me, I keep hoping that the pieces I do are cathartic, that they would alleviate pain or tension, but nothing seems to escape the heart of misery - for every well-meaning image I might make, there are videos like the one above to reveal the truth in things.

Please respond, thanks, Alan
