I was just reading, "Between the adherents to the lokayata-system and supporters of vedic religion and philosophy there were conflicts concerning way of life. The latter accused the former of teaching "good digestion and bad conscience". These conflicts parallels value theory and history of ethics in all periods."
Does this imply "good conscience and bad digestion"? Re: guilt, and nerves and stomach, etc.
I'm not sure how to read this, can you expand? I'm not familiar with the lokayata-system, and you have a quote after "periods." - this is an error? I can't answer the question, not being familiar with the conflicts and their roots. Can you give the book source? Anything would be helpful.
